Welcome to St Edward’s Academy. As the House Leader for Elgar, I am looking forward to getting to know you all and helping you to settle into your new environment. I know it can feel daunting to start a new school, but please don’t worry, we are here to help and support each and every pupil.

As a parent myself, I understand the anxieties which may be faced when your child is starting their new school. I can assure you that we will do our best to make your child’s transition and experience at St Edward’s Academy pleasant and fulfilling.

Mrs. Mulroy House Leader – Nightingale

Welcome to the SEND Team

Below you will find an introduction to some of our Teaching Assistants

Miss Stubbs – SENDCo

Hello! My name is Mrs Stubbs and I recently joined St. Edward’s CE Academy after working as a SENDCo in multiple Primary Schools. It is my job to help and support pupils who have additional needs and need extra support in lessons.

You can find my office next to room 105. Pupils are always welcome if they need support, a chat or would like to ask a question.

My passion is special educational needs and I strive to ensure all pupils can reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.

I am really looking forward to meeting you in September!

Hello, my name is Mrs Amson and I have worked at St Edward’s CE Academy for almost three years. I support pupils in their lessons and sometimes, I work with individual pupils or small groups.

My favourite lesson is maths, but I enjoy supporting pupils in all subjects. We are lucky at St Edward’s because most of our lessons are taught by subject specialists. I also enjoy getting to know pupils a little better at Lego Club and Nurture Club, which take place at lunchtime.

I very much look forward to seeing you in September.

Mrs Robinson

Hi, my name is Mrs Robinson. I have worked at St. Edward’s CE Academy for five years as a teaching assistant. I am here to support pupils in a variety of ways. If you ever need someone to talk with, I am always happy to listen.  I love working in education and look forward to meeting you and sharing your journey at our fantastic Academy!

Miss Wood

Hello, my name is Miss Wood and I am a Teaching Assistant at St. Edward’s CE Academy. I have worked with children for 9 years now, and recently pursued a career as a Teaching Assistant.

Some of you may recognise me from the many out-of-school clubs I have been a part of over the years or even the out-of-school club located at St. Edward’s CE Academy.

My role within the school is to provide support to pupils and teachers within the classroom.

Miss Wilson

Hi, my name is Miss Wilson. I look forward to meeting you all as you begin your next adventure at St Edward’s CE Academy.

I have worked with children for many years in a local nursery, but last year I decided to take on a new challenge and began my own adventure here, as a teaching assistant. I am enjoying my journey and I’m sure you all will too.

Please say ‘hello’ to me as we pass in the corridor and remember we are all here to support you and to make your time with us enjoyable.

Miss Filip

Hello, my name is Miss Filip and I have been with St Edwards’s CE Academy since 2017.  Reading and learning to speak other languages is something I love to do. At school, I run several lunchtime clubs: handwriting club, fine motor skills club, touch typing club, and homework club and I thoroughly enjoy attending the modern languages club. Working with small groups of pupils who need extra help with their learning in class or running interventions is part of my role as a teaching assistant.

I look forward to meeting you in September. Enjoy the long summer holiday and don’t forget to stay safe.
