The Bishop Blesses Lily's Garden
On a rather rainy day the Bishop of Lichfield, Michael Ipgrave visited St Edward’s Church of England Academy to lead collective worship and provide a blessing for ‘Lily’s Garden’.

Cross Country Success 2nd February 2019
Nine of our pupils represented the Staffordshire Moorlands in the County Schools Cross Country Championships at Rodbaston College on Saturday morning.
The conditions were not very favourable for running cross country as the ground was extremely frozen and the temperature was barely above 0°.

St Edward's Christmas Carol Concert: The Best Yet!
On Tuesday 18th December, St Edward's proudly presented its 2018 Christmas Carol Concert.
In front of a packed hall full of parents and family members, Governors and other members of our community; the Academy helped everyone get into the Christmas spirit during this season of Advent.

Badminton Report: Staffordshire Moorlands Schools U14 badminton
The Y8 badminton team, who have been playing badminton in Curriculum
Enrichment at Brough Park this term, played in the Staffordshire Moorlands U14
tournament at Biddulph High School.
Teams taking part were from Churnet View and Biddulph High School.
We had two boys’ teams and one girls’ team.
All teams had some very competitive matches and had a mixture of fortunes.
Sportshall Athletics November 2018
Last week, 41 pupils from Y5, Y6, Y7 and Y8 took part in the District Sportshall
Athletics competitions at Fenton Manor.
Other schools taking part were St. Annes’, St. Luke’s, Meir Heath, James
Bateman, Churnet View, Woodhouse, Painsley and Moorside.

Rugby Report: October 2018
On Friday 5th October 19, Year 7 & 8 boys took part in the County Schools Rugby Cup at Willenhall RUFC.
The team played 3 games in the morning, drawing one game and losing the other two. Unfortunately, one of our stronger players, Hugo Thompson, was injured during the morning and was unable to take part in the rest of the tournament.
Year 7 Football October 2018
The Year 7 football team have now completed two matches in the 18/19 season.
The first match was against Moorside High and in an even contest St. Edward’s eventually lost 4 - 3.
The team played their second match against Churnet View last week. An excellent performance resulted in a 5 - 1 win.
